Ken Davis
Owner - Funeral Director


Ken Davis is the owner and president of Richardson-Davis Funeral Home.  He has been a licensed funeral director and embalmer since 1976.  He attended Youngstown State University and graduated from the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science in 1975.  He joined the funeral home – then known as Volk-Richardson – in 1978 and became a partner with Robert G. Richardson in 1981.  In 1985, Ken became sole owner of the firm after Mr. Richardson’s retirement.  He is a licensed life insurance agent which allows him to facilitate pre-arranging and pre-funding funerals for families.  Ken has been active in many community organizations during his tenure in Galion.  He is a member of the board of directors and past president of the Galion Community Center-YMCA and has been active with Junior Achievement.  He serves on the board of directors of the Galion Community Hospital Health Foundation and is a member of the Galion Area Chamber of Commerce and the First Presbyterian Church.  Professionally, he is a member of the Ohio Funeral Directors Association, Ohio Embalmers Association and National Funeral Directors Association.  Ken is also a health and fitness enthusiast and enjoys running, biking, boating and scuba diving.  Aviation is a favorite pastime.  An instrument-rated private pilot, Ken is a partner in Galion Air, Inc. and an active member of the Galion Association of Pilots and the Flying Funeral Directors of America.  Ken and his wife, Rhonda, have two daughters, Kaylee and Audrey.



Chuck Jackson
Funeral Director


Chuck Jackson, a Galion native, joined Richardson-Davis Funeral Home in 1989 as a licensed funeral director and embalmer. Chuck graduated in 1981 from Colonel Crawford High School. He began working part time at the funeral home while attending college. He graduated from The Ohio State University in 1987 and from Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science in 1989. Chuck has served on the board of directors of the Galion chapter of the American Red Cross, where he served three terms as Chapter Chairman and is currently President of the Board of Directors of the Crawford County Community Concert Association. He is a member of Ohio Funeral Directors Association, Ohio Embalmers Association and National Funeral Directors Association. Chuck is also the owner and operator of Linden Monuments and assists families in selecting and designing a lasting memorial tribute to their loved ones. Chuck is an excellent craftsman and enjoys woodworking. In 1986 Chuck married his high school sweetheart, Kristi, who is a fifth grade teacher at Galion Intermediate School. Both enjoy traveling in their motor home and are avid Ohio State Buckeye fans.



Kent Keesee
Intern

Galion native Kent Keesee joined Richardson-Davis in 2002 as a high school student doing odd jobs, washing vehicles and maintaining the grounds and facilities.  Kent graduated from Galion High School in 2003, where he earned varsity letters in football, wrestling and baseball.  In 2003, among other awards and scholarships, he was presented Crawford County's prestigious B.E.S.T. award, which is given to a student displaying exceptional work ethic and high moral standards.  Kent attended the University of Toledo and Heidelberg College, where he also played football.  He then transferred to the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science where he earned a Bachelor of Mortuary Science Degree, Summa Cum Laude, and was the recipient of the Charles O. Dhonau Memorial Embalming Award for exceptional competence in embalming.  He is the son of Kristi Keesee and the late Ken Keesee.  He is a member of Free Methodist Church and the Galion Community Center YMCA.  Kent enjoys hunting, fishing and boating.  In 2007, Kent married his high school sweetheart, the former Lyndsey Hanning, and they live in the home above the funeral home.




Yvonne Matus
Bereavement Coordinator

Yvonne Matus, L.S.W., M.S.W. is the bereavement counselor at Richardson-Davis and facilitator for the firm's grief support groups. She earned a bachelor's degree in social work from Cleveland State University, where she also received her master's degree in 2000. Yvonne has 14 years of experience with Hospice and has worked as a bereavement caregiver for Odyssey HealthCare, Inc. in Columbus. She has also coordinated grief support groups for the Busch Family Funeral Chapels in Cleveland. Yvonne came to Galion in 2002 when her husband, Tom, was appointed senior pastor at the First United Methodist Church. Her interests are leading women's retreats for the church, swimming, reading, music, boating, and crafts. They have a son, a daughter and a granddaughter.



Bob Richardson
Funeral Director, Consultant and Advisor

Bob Richardson currently serves as a consultant and advisor at Richardson-Davis after retiring from the firm in 1985. He has been a licensed funeral director and embalmer for more than 55 years. He earned his funeral director's license in 1947 and his embalmer's license in 1948 from the former Cincinnati College of Embalming. Bob joined the firm in 1948 when it was known as the Volk Funeral Home and became sole owner in 1962. He is a Galion native and a longtime member of Peace Lutheran Church, where he has served as chairman of church council. He has been a volunteer for many community organizations, including chairman of Galion's United Fund campaign and chairman of the Galion Chapter of the American Red Cross. Bob is a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and has been a volunteer for the Boy Scouts of America. He is a life member of the Galion Lions Club and currently volunteers for Contact of Crawford County. Bob and his wife, Eileen, have four children and six grandchildren. In his spare time, he enjoys gardening, reading and working in stained glass.
